Simple Mobile Prepaid Phone Plans
Step into the fold: Simple Mobile, a small but powerful prepaid wireless carrier that operates on T-Mobile’s brand networks. You get better deals, period, because Simple Mobile isn’t weighed down by brand recognition. You also get a slew of prepaid options, from standard talk/text/data to international and even WiFi. It’s like a prepaid wireless carrier combined with a wireless Internet provider in perfect harmony.
- Super-Fast 42 Mbps HG Connectivity
- Numerous Monthly Plan Options
- Optional WiFi Services
- Zero Pesky Fees
With Simple Mobile, you get nationwide, coast-to-coast 3G and 4G connectivity through T-Mobile’s networks in all major metropolitan areas.
The most basic prepaid plan allows you unlimited text, talk and data at standard 3G speeds for 15 days. Upgraded plans extend the length to 30 days and permit you access to a limited amount of 4G bandwidth:
- $25 | 15 days unlimited talk/text/data
- $40 | 30 days unlimited talk/text/data (500MB at 4G speeds)
- $50 | 30 days unlimited talk/text/data (2.5GB at 4G speeds)
- $60 | 30 days unlimited talk/text/data (4GB at 4G speeds)
Note that standard 3G speeds range from 128 to 300 KB/second, while 4GB speeds go up to 42 Mbps. Furthermore, the unlimited data pertains to all phone activity, from email communication to social networking and even fun apps like VINE and Instagram.
International monthly plans from Simple Mobile function in a similar fashion:
- $50 | 30 days unlimited talk/text/data (500MB at 4GB speeds)
- $60 | 30 days unlimited talk/text/data (2.5GB at 4GB speeds)
- $70 | 30 days unlimited talk/text/data (4GB at 4GB speeds)
The international plans differ only in that you can call and text anybody from practically anywhere in the world. Also keep in mind that for the first time ever, Simple Mobile is now compatible with BlackBerry devices.
Usage Based Plans
Simple Mobile offers two sets of usage-based plans — one for international calls and one for wireless broadband access. The international one comes in refill rates of $10, while the wireless broadband option comes in refill rates of $45 (2GB) and $25 (750MB). Both of the latter options let you engage in all standard wireless computer activities, i.e., email, social networking, Web browsing, etc.
Because Simple Mobile operates on T-Mobile’s network, all the features associated with any standard wireless carrier. This means being able to connect to Google, Yahoo, Facebook and Myspace from your phone, being able to text anybody you want (domestically or internationally) and being able to send email directly from your phone through IMAP and/or POP3.
Simple Mobile doesn’t offer any roaming services, meaning no roaming fees apply. There are also no activation fees associated with its various plans.
Simple Mobile supports all major 4G devices, from the Samsung Galaxy S 4G to the Google Galaxy Nexus and HTC HD7. The company also offers 3G networking for those whose phones operate on the 1700 AWS band. It also offers a few phones direct from its site (Samsung E1205, Alcatel Mix 918S, etc.), but the actual sale occurs through the company’s affiliate partners. That said, we still appreciate the fact that the company supports so many popular brands of phones.
Help & Support
Simple Mobile offers fairly extensive customer service support every single day from 8am to 10:45pm, EST. It also supports email correspondence. It does not however offer any direct chatting support, which is a tad disappointing.
What makes Simple Mobile so effective is that it’s basically T-Mobile without the brand. It’s like generic medication — it provides the same benefits but at reduced costs. Overall, if you need 4G wireless at affordable prices, then Simple Mobile could very well be the best brand for you.
